Devin Blake's Journal

Today was literally the longest day of my life. We enjoyed our last breakfast together before getting on a bus to the airport. Once there, one student had to be taken in for questioning by security based on coins in his bags. It was an interesting experience, but there were no problems. We also got some food at Pizza Hut and a sandwich shop to spend the last of our Yuan while we waited to board the plane. Then, we spent about twelve hours on a plane back to the United States. This flight went much smoother than the first one. I was able to sleep about seven hours and watch a movie on my laptop. Some students played a game of tag on the plane as well, which was entertaining. Surprisingly, we arrived a little early than scheduled. This gave us a chance to get an earlier bus. I have to say it was a little weird to arrive around the same time that we left China. After exiting the plane, we waited for a long time for our luggage, but claims went quick in the airport, and we were able to make the early bus. After three or so hours on a bus back to Bethlehem, I spent another two hours in the car to get back home. At this point I was completely exhausted and ready to pass out. I do not expect to get used to the time difference as quickly as when arriving in China. Luckily, there is no rush for me to get back on a normal schedule.
