Well, today wasn’t exactly as planned. My flight from BWI to JFK was delayed two hours so I was left to sprint through the airport to be told the gates had just closed. Fortunately Krysta somehow got the gate reopened and I was allowed to board. From here I realized I was at no shortage of time, we sat on the runway for a good hour and a half before hour thirteen hour flight even started. The flight itself wasn’t awful I read some of a book and slept for half of the trip. When we landed and made it to baggage claim I realized my luggage hadn’t been as fortunate as me. It hadn’t quite made the flight so I would have to wait until Monday or Tuesday. Upon arrival we boarded a coach bus to take us to our hotel, it was a short ride but we killed time with games anyway. The hotel we are staying at is amazing, it is extremely nice. At around 11 we went out to get dinner and our hosts from Tsinghua had to help us order but the food was very good. Our host ordered just about everything on the menu for us, we got to try porridge, shrimp dumplings, milk rolls, and leek pancakes. They were all spectacular. Tomorrow we are going to class in the morning then a tour of the university for the rest of the day. I am really hoping my luggage makes tomorrow’s flight so it could be here late Monday or early Tuesday.
