STUDENT NAME's Journal

Friday May 21th, 2010

Friday was a fun day but pretty uneventful day. We had class in the morning where we learned more about Chinese heritage. Afterwards Ruby showed us all of the pictures that she had taken the previous night at the karaoke bar. There were some pretty interesting ones of peoples’ spectacular singing. After laughing at each others’ inability to sing on key we broke for lunch and had the rest of the days to whatever we wanted. Devin, Mary, and I went to the Pearl Market because we all had some final shopping to do before we left. I had to get a book bag for all of the useless things I bought this week because it wouldn’t all fit in my original bags. Mary got a T-shirt and Devin got a nice pair of leather shoes for a pretty good price. After shopping we went to eat at Yoshinoya which appears to be the Japanese version of McDonalds, I am definitely a proponent of getting some of those in the United States. After a hellish trip back on the packed subway we had the rest of the night to do what we wanted. I went to the DVD store with Adam and Ryan and bought up on everybody’s’ request because apparently I am the only person that hasn’t seen it. After that we had a spectacular farewell dinner where once again, thanks to Vivienne, we had more food than we could look at much less eat. Then subsequent to dinner we went out and enjoyed our last night in Beijing by sampling the local nightlife.
