Thursday was another work-centric day. In the morning we had a class on Chinese economics which I thought was particularly interesting, it was probably my favorite lecture thus far. She did a great job showing sources and policies that helped China’s economy grow at such a fast pace with such stability. Afterwards we watched an interesting film clip from China in days when they did not have such liberties they enjoy today, although it was silent because the film was Italian it ended with a very interesting acrobatic show. After class we had another company visit, this was my company so I was ready to take notes, unfortunately our tour guide, although friendly, spoke no English whatsoever, if it wasn’t for Claudia I may have actually left knowing less about the company. Of all the companies we visited I think Hanwang Technologies had the most innovative products. These included tablets that took the place of keyboard, mouses that could be written into, and bio recognition scanners. After this visit I immediately changed out of the shirt and tie that cooked me in the 95 degree weather and wore clothes more fitting for the scorching day. Tonight we had a special surprise, they rented a private room for us to sing karaoke at an all you can eat buffet, and I don’t know what more I could ask for in an evening. Unfortunately we got there as they were finishing dinner but I still had my fill of food and got to flex the golden pipes.
