STUDENT NAME's Journal

Monday May 17th, 2010

Monday was a rather slow day, no sites and not too much free time. It was, however, still a good day. In the morning we had a very interesting class presented by Claudia. In the free time we went out to lunch at the nice little restaurant we went the first night. There were only three of us and nobody spoke Chinese so we had quite the endeavor ordering food. We ended up settling for three of the same thing, one of the things with a picture so we could just point at it. It turned out to be very good, noodles with what I believe was pork and something resembling asparagus. After lunch we walked around the street vendors for a bit and viewed all the “authentic” apparel and dogs. When our break was over we had to go to a company visit, fortunately this kindly gentleman spoke much better English. Although it was a rather dry presentation on the company’s products (too complicated for me) and markets it was very informative and probably very useful for whoever had that group. We did get to see some very interesting products including a lovely solar powered Christmas tree and solar powered bags; they had quite the impressive arsenal of random products.
