Day 12 Today we had our fourth lecture class about Chinese economy. We learned about how their economy is growing at a much faster rate than the rest of the world and also about how in 50 years they are expected to be the leading economy in the world. We also learned about the jobs in China. In the Iron Rice bowl, the government provides jobs to everyone, however many companies decided to go private so that they could hire less workers. After lecture we had our fourth and final company visit to Hanwon. We were able to see their product lines. I found it very interesting how they are able to transfer handwriting to the computer so that all of the Chinese characters are able to be added to a document and not just the 2000 usual ones. We also some of the products that they are going to bring to America in the future. For dinner we went to a Karaoke restaurant. The food was served in a buffet style but we got there towards the end so they didn’t put much food out for us. However the actually singing part of the place was really neat. We had our own private room where we could sing whatever we want, as loud as we want. We definitely took advantage of that. We sang songs anywhere from Britney Spears, Queen to Jay Z. It was very funny and very entertaining. Afterwards I was very tired so I just called it an early night and caught up on some missed sleep.
