Day 9 Today after breakfast we had our third lecture presentation. Today it was about Chinese Chauvinism. We covered issues about what brought China to be a communism country and how they based much of their structure off of Stalin and Soviet Russia. We also covered isolationism where they weren’t allowed to contact and foreigners without being criticized by insult or murder. In addition we covered the One Child Policy where each family is only allowed one child. I found that very interesting since I am the youngest of five. Also I found how strict education is to be quite weird. In America we strive hard to succeed but China takes it to another level. At some points they were studying up until 4am for a test that was three years away and not eating because it took up too much time. After lecture we went on our second company tour of Tsinghua Solar. I enjoyed learning about this company a lot because I believe that we must start being more green with the way we live. I hope they globalize more towards America and we start to incorporate their ideas back home. They are a company I could see myself wanting to work for in the future. After that we all tried our first Chinese Subway. It was a lot different than in America. In America, Subway is considered really cheap but in China, Subway compared to other was more expensive. They however offered the same food, but it was prepared a little bit differently.
