Today was a day that I was extremely excited for.  We got to visit the 2008 Olympic stadiums.  The first stop was to the Birds Nest, which is where the opening ceremonies took place.  It was amazing to turn a corner and just see a stadium of this size and architecture.  The steel frame really makes the stadium look futuristic to me.  The inside was just as neat.  There were only three levels but each level went all the way around the field where there were endless numbers of seats.  It just made me wish I were there two years earlier to witness the Olympics when they were taking place.  All I did for two weeks in 2008 was watch the summer Olympics, and now I was in the place that I thought I would never visit.  There was also a tight-rope-walker going across the roof of the stadium without a rope or net to catch him if he fell.  It was really neat to watch something so dangerous.  After the Birds Nest, we walked over to the Water Cube, which was where the Olympic swimming took place.  Unfortunately, the Water Cube was closed until August, so we were unable to go inside.  The outside is still really neat to see.  It just looks like the building is made out of a bunch of bubbles.

Later that day, we visited Lenovo for our third company visit.  This was by far my favorite company visit so far.  It was a very interactive tour that showed us the history behind the company and all of the products that they have on the market, or will soon be on the market.  They also designed the 2008 Olympic torch, which was on display.  After visiting, I would actually consider buying a Lenovo computer for my next laptop.  I really like the products that they were showing me.  I didn’t know most of them existed because they don’t really advertise in the United States.  I also learned that they own IBM.  At night, we revisited Tiananmen Square and the Olympic stadiums to see how they look at night.  It was cool to walk around some of the famous landmarks of Beijing at night.  They were all lit up, which made it feel like you were seeing it again for the first time.  It had a different feel at night.
