Today was pretty simple. We went to class in the morning, and the building was really hot (as usual) and the lesson was interesting. I really feel that without the pressure of getting tested on material, I enjoy and learn a lot more in these classes. After class, we went to a mall by our hotel and ate at this place called “Grandma’s Kitchen”. Its funny, in America you have Chinese food that’s not really Chinese food, but the kind of food that American’s think Chinese people eat. Well, this place was American all right, a little too American. The meal started off with two bowls of mayonnaise on the table, and the food was so fatty. The worst thing on the menu (that two people got) was a double cheeseburger with bacon and hotdogs on it. No wonder they think Americans are fat!
After that, we went on a company tour to Tsinghua Solar. I felt that the company was very interesting, and solar energy is something that I feel strongly about. We got to touch some of the solar tubes and take pictures. They even had a cardboard cutout of Megatron in one of the rooms. After we left the company, we headed back, and then went out later. Its interesting, although there are a lot of McDonalds over here, I found it strange that there were even more KFCs than I could have ever imagined. There was even a three story one! Its amazing that Chinese people aren’t fat with all of this fast food all around them.
