Today was our first company tour at Capital Bio. It wasn’t very interesting, all we did was stand in their lobby and look at some of their sample equipment. Then we saw a movie. The man had a megaphone and he couldn’t speak English very well, so he talked to Claudia, and she translated most of it. The idea behind the company seems very interesting, its just that none of us could really get a grasp of what the company actually did, and how they did it. The building was very futuristic though, and it looked nice. It was very hot and everyone couldn’t wait to get out. We went outside to look at the garden and 2 of the girls got locked inside the building. It was funny to see the man in charge have to swiftly walk back and unlock the door for them.
Later on that day for lunch, we went back to eat at the same place we ate at the first night that we got here. I really haven’t had to pay for much food at all on this trip. That’s a good thing since I was expecting to pay for most of my lunches and dinners. After that we went to K-mart and bought some stuff. Then we went back to the hotel and get ready to go out later that night with everyone else.
When we got back to the room, Sarah and I decided to take a nap, and we set the alarm to go off at 8 so we would have enough time to get ready and go out. Well, our jet lag got the best of us and we ended up sleeping through the night. When I woke up, it was around 3 a.m. and I couldn’t go back to sleep so I just looked at pictures on my computer and used the ether net cord to go on the internet. I hope that that sort of set me back on the right sleep track, but I really doubt it.
